Plastic surgery offered by Dr. Jim Gilmore.

Outpatient Surgery

Many patients are unaware that all of the Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery procedures on our website are performed effectively in our accredited outpatient surgery suite.

As an outpatient surgical facility, Gilmore Centre of Cosmetic Excellence is honored to be accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Incorporated (AAAHC). The AAAHC has accredited many ambulatory health care organizations nationwide based on an extensive onsite physician evaluation of the facility and its services. Such organizations, which are continually monitored and re-certified, must exemplify an exceptional commitment to quality in all aspects of patient care. Our facility was among the first nationally accredited in the Dallas/Fort Worth area; years before Texas state law required outpatient surgical facilities to be accredited.

Licensed personnel staff our fully equipped surgical suite and recovery room. Local anesthesia and/or sedation (twilight anesthesia) administered by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (C.R.N.A.) or an Anesthesiologist (M.D.), is used for our Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery procedures. The patient's vital signs are monitored throughout the procedure(s). The goal of this type of anesthesia is to produce a safe and pleasant surgical experience. For most patients this type of anesthesia affords a more rapid recovery than the traditional and conventional types of general anesthesia.

After surgery you are transferred from our surgical suite to our recovery room and monitored until you have met the criteria for a safe discharge. You will be released to the person that you have designated to provide your transportation and aftercare. Patients having surgery are not allowed to drive to the office or to drive home by themselves. We encourage you and your caregiver to follow the instructions that were given to you at the time of your visit prior to surgery, as well as, those of the nurses at the time of discharge. We urge you and/or your caregiver to contact our office immediately if there are any problems, or if you are worried or anxious about any phase of your surgery and/or recovery. Our staff is well trained and will answer any questions that may arise during this time.
